Kevin McCloskey
Kevin McCloskey will be on leave in Fall 2018 and returning to Kutztown’s campus for Spring 2019.
He is traveling to promote his new book, Snails are Just My Speed, and researching two future book projects.
Kevin McCloskey, MFA, The School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. Post-graduate studies in African Art and Design at Kwame Nkrumah University, Ghana, West Africa.
He is the author and illustrator of the popular ‘Giggle and Learn’ series of hardcover comics published by Toon Books. His humorous illustrations have appeared in The Village Voice and The New York Times. His first children’s picture book, Mrs. Fitz’s Flamingos, was a selection of the Children’s Book of the Month Club.
Besides his interest in comics for children, he has a special interest in modern Mexican political prints. He has curated eight exhibitions of Mexican prints across the U.S, notably at the Fowler Museum, UCLA.
